Vontaze Burfict, Vince Williams exchange threats on Twitter like high schoolers
The Pittsburgh Steelers have accused the Cincinnati Bengals of intentionally trying to injure Le’Veon Bell during Sunday’s game and then celebrating after he went down with a season-ending knee injury. More specifically, several players have called out Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict.
Earlier this week, Steelers linebacker Vince Williams threatened Burfict via Twitter. Not surprisingly, Burfict opted against taking the high road.

Now, children, let’s try to remember we are professional athletes and not sitting in Mrs. Johnson’s 10th grade biology class.
Williams’ frustration was shared by plenty of other Pittsburgh players, and you can read some of their comments here. Burfict, who is known for making dirty plays like this, has not exactly earned the benefit of the doubt. Although, the Bengals claim he ran away from the play enthusiastically because he was disgusted by the snapping sound Bell’s leg made.
Regardless of what happened, a great NFL rivalry just got a little more chippy.
