High school goalie scores on own net, flips off coaches, gives salute, exits ice (Video)
A high school goalie in Minnesota had the ultimate meltdown on Tuesday night in which he purposely allowed a goal, flipped off his coaches, gave a salute, and then exited the ice.
According to tweets from Follow The Puck, the meltdown occurred in a game between Farmington Senior High School and Chaska High School. Follow The Puck says Farmington was up 2-1 with three minutes left when the goalie scored on his own net to tie the game. He then started to skate off the ice, flipped off his coaches, gave them a salute, and exited. The incident was all caught on video, possibly by some people who knew what he was planning to do.
Follow The Puck seems to understand the circumstances behind the meltdown. The goalie apparently is typically a backup to a sophomore, but he got the start because it was Senior Night. This may have been his way of expressing his dissatisfaction with his situation on the team.
Follow The Puck says Chaska went on to win the game 3-2.
And with that, we have one of the greatest meltdowns of all time.
