Flyers mascot Gritty makes Miley Cyrus-like entrance at home opener
The Philadelphia Flyers introduced a new mascot this offseason, and the furry creature made its home debut on Tuesday night. And Gritty sure made his presence known.
Gritty the mascot dropped into Wells Fargo Center prior to the Flyers’ home opener against the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday to the tune of Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” song.

Gritty is a funky character who was heavily mocked when first introduced, but he’s become a hit on social media and already has 128,000 followers on Twitter.
The mascot’s humor and positive attitude has resonated well with fans.
