Mom admits to bringing 15-year-old daughter to Super Bowl to pimp her out
The New York Police Department has made a strong effort to crack down on prostitution in the New York City area in the week leading up to the Super Bowl. As we were reminded with the London Olympics last summer, major sporting events always bring an influx of escorts looking to make money by selling themselves. Unfortunately, some of them aren’t even 18 years old.
A 39-year-0ld woman named Yolanda Ostoloza was arrested early Thursday morning after police discovered that she brought her 15-year-old daughter to Manhattan to pimp her out to Super Bowl tourists. Court papers obtained by the NY Daily News showed that Ostoloza admitted to the crime.
“We came up here to work and make money with a pimp,” she told police. “I knew it was for escorting and prostitution. … I thought my daughter was just going to do the fetish stuff.”
Oh, well in that case — not. Detectives who were posing as a potential client agreed to meet the 15-year-old girl and pay $200 for her services at a hotel in Midtown just after midnight on Wednesday. As they were arresting her, the girl told police she was only 15 and that her mother was at another hotel waiting for her.
Police then drove to the hotel that the 15-year-old said her mother was at and arrested Ostoloza. She was charged with promoting prostitution and endangering the welfare of a child. Her daughter was turned over to New York’s child protective services division for the time being.
Talk about disturbing.
