Did Luis Suarez bite another opponent? It sure looked like it.
During the second half of Uruguay’s World Cup game against Italy on Tuesday, Suarez appeared to bite the shoulder of Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini. It was tough to tell if Suarez bit Chiellini’s shoulder with the angles shown on TV, but he definitely did something that left bite marks.
If you were watching the game and heard the broadcasters say something like “surely not again,” it was because Chiellini would not be the first opponent Suarez has bitten. He bit Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic on the arm during a game last year and was suspended seven games for biting a different opponent in 2010.
Suarez really needs to stop playing on an empty stomach. It’s making him crazy.
