Chris Bosh’s birthday cake featured figurine of him riding an elephant (Picture)

Chris-Bosh-elephant-birthday-cake

Chris Bosh had to deal with some very unfortunate circumstances when he returned home from his 29th birthday party early Thursday morning, which has led to the greatness of the actual party being swept under the rug. Bosh’s good mood probably disappeared when he got to his house and realized more than $340,000 worth of his stuff had been stolen, but the party itself sounds like it was a blast.

According to Joe Goodman of the Miami Herald, Bosh’s birthday bash was Moroccan-themed and included a camel named Henri. The theme helps explain the photo of Bosh’s cake that Goodman shared with us, which features a figurine of himself riding a chocolate elephant.

Insiders from the party also said that there were fire-eaters and belly dancers in addition to the camel, which they said peed an extraordinary amount. Last week for his actual birthday, Bosh was entertained by a mariachi band. The cake from this week wasn’t quite as extravagant as some of the LeBron James birthday cakes we have seen in the past, but I don’t know how you can get anymore crazy than a Moroccan theme and a live camel. Oh, that’s right — Dwyane Wade had a $230,000 car airlifted into a hotel pool area for his birthday. Nevermind.

Rip Hamilton’s birthday cake was awesome and insanely detailed (Picture)

Rip Hamilton birthday cake

Rip Hamilton recently celebrated his 35th birthday, and the Chicago Bulls guard finally got around to sharing a photo of his amazing birthday cake.

Rip turned 35 on Feb. 14 and celebrated the weekend before his big day. On Sunday, he posted a photo on Instagram of his awesome birthday cake.

The cake depicts four figurines of Hamilton seated at a table playing cards. Each figurine represents Hamilton from a different stage in his playing career. There is one figurine of Hamilton with the Wizards, Pistons, Bulls, and UConn. They are so detailed they all have headbands, wristbands and even a shooting sleeve.

In the foreground of the cake, there is a box showing a replica championship ring Rip won as a star player on the 2003-2004 Detroit Pistons. There is also a mask an Air Jordan shoe, both of which Rip has worn most of his career. The card at the bottom also boasts about the three overtime game the Knicks and Pistons played in New York on Dec. 27, 2006. The Knicks won the game 151-145, but Hamilton had 51 points.

The best part of all? As Hamilton noted via Twitter, everything there was edible cake.

If Floyd Mayweather Jr. thought his birthday cake was cool, he needs to look at Rip’s.

Floyd Mayweather gets birthday cake with his face on a $1,000 bill (Picture)

Floyd-Mayweather-money-cake

Everything Floyd Mayweather Jr. does has to do with money, and he would be the first person to tell you that. We’re talking about a guy who once admitted that he parties as much as he does to maintain his “money image.”

On Saturday night, Mayweather celebrated his new deal mega-deal with Showtime. The welterweight champion also turned 36 on Sunday, so his new network family presented him with a classic Mayweather birthday cake. As you can see, it featured his face on a $1,000 bill.

Is this the first birthday cake Mayweather has had featuring fake money? Of course not, and this cake from a couple years ago serves as a reminder of how obsessed he is with stacking paper. That helps explain why he chose to leave HBO for Showtime, as he is reportedly set to earn a minimum of $200 million over six fights with his new deal. Life is good for Floyd, even as he creeps closer and closer to 40.

Torrey Smith had a pretty awesome birthday cake of, well, himself (Picture)

Torrey-Smith-birthday-cake

Torrey Smith celebrated his 24th on Saturday, which was likely a welcome break from the preparation and anticipation of the Baltimore Ravens’ upcoming Super Bowl match-up against the San Francisco 49ers. As you can see from the photo above that Smith shared on Twitter over the weekend, somebody ordered an incredible cake for the second-year receiver.

If I didn’t know any better, I would probably think that was his actual helmet and shoulder pads. Smith’s birthday was likely a difficult time for him this year with his brother having died in a tragic motor cycle accident back in September. Thankfully, it appears that he has a great support group around him.

The cake isn’t quite as exquisite as this LeBron James b-day cake or this cake that Cam Newton celebrated with, but that’s probably a good thing. There’s something to be said for keeping it relatively modest.

Jayson Werth is now a cupcake, beard and all (Picture)

With one swing of a bat, Jayson Werth transformed himself from frustrating $126 million man into postseason hero on Thursday night. The Nationals forced a Game 5 in the NLDS against the Cardinals thanks to Werth’s walk-off home run, which earned him the right to have himself turned into a cupcake.

As you can see from the photo above, Lara Stuckey from Fluffy Thoughts Cakes designed a fantastic Werth cupcake after watching his game-winning homer.

“We’ve been selling Nats cupcakes all week,” Stuckey told Sarah Kogod of D.C. Sports Bog. “But after last night, we knew that we had to make a special one just for Werth.”

Stuckey said the Werth cupcakes go for $5.00 each. Regular Nationals cupcakes sell for $2.50 and have been a huge hit. As we learned from works of art like this cake or this fruit arrangement that were modeled after Thunder star James Harden, popular players with beards can inspire people do some pretty amazing things.

LSU fan gets crazy crawfish pot groom’s cake (Picture)

Being an LSU fan is all about a select few things, and one of them is crawfish. If you don’t like crawfish, you might as well just get the hell out. As you can see from the photo above that Darren Rovell shared with us, an LSU fan recently put his pride on display with an insanely-detailed cake in the shape of a crawfish boil, complete with potatoes and corn.

Rovell says the cake belong’s to a groom, presumably as a gift for his groomsmen. I’ve never heard of a cake specifically for the groomsmen, but we’ll go with that theory in hopes that some poor bride wasn’t talked into having this as her actual wedding cake.

How does this compare with the rest of the crazy cakes we’ve featured here on LBS?

Giants S Tyler Sash got a Jordan 11 shoe cake for his birthday (Pictures)

Tyler Sash is a huge sneakers guy, so for his birthday he got a cake that looked like Jordan 11 shoes. The Giants safety told LBS that his girlfriend had the cake made by the “Cake Boss,” and that she asked for it in the defending Super Bowl champs’ colors.
