Chuck Liddell’s Career Put on Ice

Last time we checked in on Chuck Liddell he was working out naked in a video with girlfriend Heidi Northcott. Luckily for us he had some clothing on for his fight at UFC 115 in Vancouver on Saturday night. Although he managed to break Rich Franklin’s arm during their bout with a powerful kick, Liddell got knocked out towards the end of the first round. The knockout loss marks Liddell’s fifth defeat in his last six fights.

Though Liddell battled and put forth a strong effort, he got beat up pretty badly in the fight and showed that at age 40 he should call it a career. After the event ended, UFC president Dana White told Ariel Helwani of Fanhouse that Liddell was done fighting for the UFC. It’s the right move by White and hopefully Liddell will realize it’s time to call it quits. There are other MMA promoters who could make offers to the Iceman, but he should turn them all down. Liddell has had an excellent career but when you’re on the wrong end of too many Knockouts of the Night you have to hang up the gloves. By the way, that’s Liddell above in the emergency room after the fight via Bloody Elbow.

Chuck Liddell Naked Workout Video Was Filmed at Brad Penny’s House

A few weeks ago when a stunning video of Chuck Liddell and his girlfriend Heidi Northcott working out naked hit the internet, I didn’t know how to react. After hearing that the video turned out to be a viral ad for an athletic clothing company, I felt like an idiot for being duped. I don’t feel as dumb as the company that paid for the ads because not one in one hundred people would have figured out that this was an advertising ploy. It also became quite curious when a naked video of Chad Ochocinco was released days later, making it obvious that something was up. The act was old by then.

Now it’s become pretty clear that a late night talk show host was in on the act, not to mention our friends at The Big Lead who first released the vids. It also makes a lot more sense that other large sports blogs failed to post the video — perhaps they were offered the opportunity to partner up and declined so they weren’t about to get caught up in the “oh my goodness” sentiment. So what’s the point of this rant other than for me to vent my frustration over being duped and to laugh at the company who paid for the ads but didn’t get the product mention? In an interview shared by The Big Lead, Chuck Liddell revealed that the video was filmed at his buddy’s house — pitcher Brad Penny. And once again we see that Brad Penny’s priorities are clubbing, mixing it up with celebrities, mixing it up with celebrities at clubs, and making money. Somewhere way down the line after those items listed above is baseball. Hope the Cardinals enjoy their new arm.

Iceman Chuck Liddell Naked Workout Video with Heidi Northcott

One of the stranger videos to hit the web has hit the web. It features MMA fighter Chuck “Iceman” Liddell working out at what appears to be a private (home?) gym along with his girlfriend Heidi Northcott. While it’s curious that someone filmed the two of them working out naked, it’s equally curious that the couple works out in the nude! Anyway, here’s the Chuck Liddell nude workout video via The Big Lead:

If Northcott looks familiar, it’s because she is — she used to be Jose Canseco’s girlfriend. And believe me when I say that body looks familiar because I saw it working out at my local 24 Hour Fitness plenty of times. Nice pull, Chuck!

I just don’t see it.  Call me a snob, call me whatever you want, but UFC just doesn’t do it for me.  It has nothing to offer.  And it certainly has nothing on boxing.  Seriously.  All the ads for the sport are such a farce.  They’re just like that Girls Gone Wild loop that airs at 3am; three hours of crappy footage, compiled into 30 seconds of the best action, making you believe it’s the greatest thing you’ll ever see (sense any bitterness?).  Until you actually order it, and then you realize that 98% of it sucks, while only 2% is good.  And I can’t even say that much of this fight was good.  Anywhoo, enough of the diatribe.  Here’s the fight (if you can call it that):

Yay.  I’m so excited.
