Couple got engaged in street during Ravens fans Super Bowl celebration (Video)

Ravens-fan-Super-Bowl-proposalSunday night was a special night for Baltimore Ravens fans, many of who filled the streets of Baltimore to celebrate their team’s Super Bowl victory over the San Francisco 49ers. As if winning a championship isn’t thrilling enough, one fan was captured on camera making the celebration an even more memorable experience.

As you can see at the 38-second mark of the video above that was posted on Reddit, a fan was recording some of the festivities when he came across a man who was down on one knee proposing to his girlfriend. Judging by her reaction, it’s safe to say the answer was yes.

My question is this: was this dude proposing after the game win or lose? I’m guessing he had some sort of alternate proposal plan in place. If his girlfriend is a big Ravens fan and he asked her to marry him after a Super Bowl loss, there’s a good chance he would have ended up like this guy.

Iowa State C Anna Prins’ boyfriend proposes to her on court after game (Video)

Anna-Prins-proposalThe Iowa State women’s basketball team came away with a comfortable 86-47 win over Alabama State on Sunday, but center Anna Prins was left celebrating more than just a blowout victory. After the game, Iowa State head coach Bill Fennelly led a young man named Ryan De Hamer out onto the court. Considering De Hamer is Prins’ boyfriend, she probably had a hunch about what was going to happen next.

With a microphone in-hand, De Hamer got down on one knee at center court and proposed to the 6-foot-7 senior. She said yes.

“I was crying,” Prins told the Ames Gazette. “I couldn’t have asked for a better place, just with all the people that were involved: Coach (Bill Fennelly), my team, the fans in Hilton, my family was there. Pretty special.”

Redskins cheerleader gets engaged before kickoff against Cowboys (Picture)

Redskins-cheerleader-proposal

Sunday night ended up being a tremendous night for Washington Redskins fans, as their team defeated the division rival Dallas Cowboys to clinch the NFC East title and a playoff berth. For one Redskins cheerleader, the victory may not have been the highlight of the evening.

As you can see from the photo above that ABC 2 in Annapolis’ Don Harrison passed along, a Washington cheerleader’s boyfriend proposed to her on the sidelines before kickoff. She said yes. It was obviously a bold move from her boyfriend. Depending on her viewpoint, he either gave her a welcome distraction from the ongoing buzz at FedEx Field or one more thing to think about before the most important home game of the season.

In any event, we’ll give the gentleman somewhere between a B+ and an A- for the effort. It may not beat a proposal on a medal stand, but it certainly tops being rejected in from of an arena full of people.

Steve Weatherford helps Giants fan propose to his girlfriend

Thanks in part to punter Steve Weatherford, a couple of New York Giants fans have a wedding to plan. After the G-Men concluded their practice on Sunday, Weatherford walked off the field and handed a man named Bryan Wheeler what appeared to be a souvenir. As you can see above, the souvenir had an important message on it and Wheeler handed it off to his girlfriend, Jacklene Murt.

“I thought it went great, she said yes,” Weatherford explained on Monday according to the Giants website. “I don’t know if I’ll get invited to the wedding or not. It was fun. It was very flattering to be requested to do that. It was a lot of fun.

“I think he contacted our community relations people and requested that the craziest guy on the team help him out. I don’t think he had to look too far down the roster…Obviously whenever you get to do something like that, it’s flattering because it makes you realize how important you are to a lot of people. The guy hopefully, cross your fingers, is only going to get married once, and I was the one to help him get engaged.”

We here at LBS are glad the lovely lady said yes. As we’ve shown you in the past, there’s nothing worse than a rejected proposal in public.

Chad Ochocinco proposed to Evelyn Lozada while playing a video game

So Chad Johnson Ochocinco is getting married to model Evelyn Lozada next week and some details were spilled by the fiancee about how the proposal went down. Said the bride to be on V-103 with Egypt:

“I wish I had a really romantic story to tell you, but it’s not so romantic. A jeweler came to the house, had a few rings, he had my ring in a separate box. I, of course, chose that one. [Chad] had a headset on and he was like, ‘You like it?’ and I was like, ‘Yep’ and I put it on and he goes, ‘Okay cool,’ and he started playing Call of Duty.”

Cassanova Cinco! Not sure what’s worse than being rejected after one of the most important moments in your life for a video game. Maybe being ignored for another woman? No, because that would at least make Ochocinco look human. Ignoring her for a video game makes him seem more soulless than a Dracula that eats puppies for fun.

Louisville’s Kyle Kuric proposes to his girlfriend at graduation (Video)

Saturday was already set to become one of the most special days of Louisville senior Taraneh Momeni’s life. As if graduating from the School of Dentistry and walking across the stage to receive her diploma wasn’t enough, her boyfriend decided to make it much more memorable. When Louisville basketball player and fellow senior Kyle Kuric stepped on stage as Momeni’s name was called to receive her degree, she thought he was up there to photograph the moment. Then, he took the microphone.

“Sorry to interrupt,” Kuric said as you can see in the video that WHAS 11 shared with us. “Me and her have been dating for about two-and-a-half years and I love her more than anything and definitely want to be with her for the rest of my life. I love her very much.”

BYU DL Jordan Richardson proposes to girlfriend after long race (Video)

BYU defensive lineman Jordan Richardson earned some serious creativity points for his marriage proposal last weekend. The senior-to-be from Idaho Falls, Idaho proposed to girlfriend Chelsea Young after she completed a 30-or-so mile race.

Young was running in the Ragnar Relay SoCal event, according to CNN. When she crossed the finish line, a banner saying “Will U Marry me?” was waiting for her. Richardson, wearing a suit and tie, then got down on his knee and proposed. She said yes and they shared a kiss.

How does that stack up with some of the other great sports-related proposals we’ve seen?
