Rapper Wale takes shot at Chip Kelly while hanging with DeSean Jackson

DeSean Jackson visited the Washington Redskins on Monday, and there are many who believe he will not leave without a contract. On Monday night, Tim McManus of Philly Magazine reported that a source close to Jackson said the 27-year-old signing with the Redskins is a “done deal.”

The photo you see above shows Jackson hanging out with rapper Wale, who is a known Redskins fan and good friend of Robert Griffin III, as well as Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall and wide receiver Pierre Garcon. Wale took a shot at Chip Kelly with the caption he included.

“I was on my hippy schwag dear Chip Kelly this is a peace sign,” he wrote.

Wale is of course making light of a recent report that links Jackson to gang members. Last year, Jackson threw up a set on Hall during a game and flashed the same sign in a photo he posted on social media. Or, if you ask Wale, it was simply a peace symbol.

In any event, all signs point to DeSean signing with Washington. He seemed to be having a great time with his potential teammates on Monday and reportedly met with RG3 in Los Angeles before flying to the nation’s capital.

Rapper Wale says he will perform at Robert Griffin III’s wedding (Video)

Rapper-WaleWashington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III and rapper Wale appear to be best buddies. Last summer, Wale visited Redskins training camp and told reporters about a new nickname he had already given the rookie sensation. Now, he is apparently on RG3’s guest list for his wedding.

On Tuesday, Wale joined HOT 97 in New York in-studio to promote his new album “The Gifted.” RG3 called into the station as a surprise guest, and Wale needled him about being up so early in the morning before the topic of Griffin’s July 6 wedding came up.

“I’m gonna be at the wedding, though. I’ma be there,” Wale said, via Sarah Kogod of DC Sports Bog. “Me and Griff gonna perform at that wedding.”

Griffin went on to say that he can’t rap, so I doubt he will be performing at his own wedding. In fact, I have my doubts that Wale will even perform, but I’m sure he’s going to be there.

I wonder if Wale was as kind as RG3’s fans and bought him something nice off of his and Rebecca Liddicoat’s gift registry. If so, do you think he got a hand-written note in return?

Rapper Wale confronts Toronto Raptors announcer after being mocked (Video)

Rapper Wale confronted Toronto Raptors TV announcer Matt Devlin during Tuesday’s Washington Wizards-Toronto Raptors in DC game after being mocked on the visiting team’s telecast.

Wale is a Washington DC native and fan of the local sports teams. He was exchanging words with Rudy Gay as the Raptors forward went off for 12 points during the second quarter. The exchange between the two was described on TV by Raptors announcer Matt Devlin, who slighted the rapper in the process.

Devlin emphasized that Wale was a “local” rapper even though the performer is known internationally, and continued to mock him.

“Wale’s inspiring. I’m sure somebody on Twitter can tell me exactly if they’ve heard of Wale. He’s not Drake, that’s for sure.”

Word of Devlin’s trash talk must have gotten back to Wale, because he tweeted at the announcer:

Wale, still apparently upset with Devlin, tried confronting the broadcast team.

Rapper Wale Shouts Out Ryan Mallett, Wants Him on Redskins

Rapper Wale is on tour and performed in Worcester (Mass.) on Saturday night. Based on a few tweets, it sounds like Patriots quarterback Ryan Mallett was there. Mallett told Wale he had a great show, and then received this Twitter shout out Saturday night:

Wale is from Washington D.C. so the Redskins are his team. Shouting out Mallett will only enhance the former Arkansas quarterback’s reputation as a “Caucasian street guy.”
