If Brock Lesnar is genuinely being disciplined by the WWE for cutting Randy Orton with some brutal elbows in the ring during their match at SummerSlam on Sunday, then the punishment has to be different from the one Stephanie McMahon stated on Tuesday.
McMahon had said on RAW Monday that there will be “repercussions” for Lesnar. On Tuesday, she said Lesnar would be fined $500. Seriously. $500. Brock makes more than that in half a second in the ring.
In keeping with the storyline surrounding the penalty, the WWE website wrote this commentary about the matter:
Is the fee enough to satiate SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon’s peace of mind for the heinous act inflected upon one of his show’s top Superstars? Is this seemingly paltry sum an insult to Shane and SmackDown Live? How will Lesnar’s fine impact the already strained relations between Team Red and Team Blue?
Clearly this is just a storyline and the actual discipline to Lesnar had to be more.
