600 Chris Denorfia bobbleheads mysteriously left on doorstep

Chris-Denorfia-bobbleheads

A group of roommates living in University City, San Diego, recently became the proud owners of 600 bobbleheads dolls depicting former Padres outfielder Chris Denorfia.

Philip Jia, one of the home’s residents, told NBC 7 in San Diego that he called the police when he discovered the boxes, not knowing what they contained or if they should be moved. The woman who answered the phone at the San Diego Police Department said it was the most bizarre call she has ever received, but the bobbleheads ended up being just that and nothing more.

“We opened them up expecting to find something a little more nefarious,” Jia explained.

Another roommate said the residents wondered if there could be drugs inside the figurines.

“We thought it was from a drug cartel or something,” Jalena Lau said. “But when we went through them they were just regular bobble heads.”

The residents loaded about half of the bobbleheads into their apartment and pranked a roommate who wasn’t home by decorating his room with them. They have also been giving them away to family members, co-workers and friends. The bobbleheads even became a party favor.

“Actually we had a huge Halloween party and a lot of our friends came over and it was kind of a like a present we gave out to everyone,” Lau said.

Denorfia is a 35-year-old veteran who is now with the Chicago Cubs — his fourth MLB team in a 10-year career. Fortunately, 600 of these bobbleheads weren’t left at someone’s doorstep. That would be pure nightmare fuel.
