Aaron Judge gave a brutal quote after his New York Yankees lost the World Series.

The Yankees blew a 5-0 lead in Game 5 of the World Series at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday night. Even after allowing the Dodgers to tie the game, the Yankees had taken a 6-5 lead. But they blew that too and lost the game 7-6, giving the Dodgers the championship.

The manner in which the Yankees lost Game 5 was painful. Just ask Judge.

“I think falling short in the World Series will stick with me until I die, probably,” Judge said after the game, via Yankees reporter Bryan Hoch.

That’s exactly how you would expect a player like Judge to feel after losing a game like that. He is every bit as heartbroken as the fans.

Not only did the Yankees blow leads in the game, but Judge played a role in it. He missed what should have been a routine out in center field, which enabled the Dodgers’ big inning.

Winning his first World Series is probably the only thing that will take away the sting for Judge. He’ll always remember blowing Game 5, but he needs a championship of his own to offset that.
