Baltimore Orioles outfielder Adam Jones said on Twitter that a fan threw a banana at him in the last inning of his team’s 10-2 win over the San Francisco Giants at AT&T Park on Sunday.
Jones hit an RBI double in the eighth and a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth to put the game out of reach.
Let me just say that I really hope the fan threw the banana in protest of how well Jones was doing against the Giants, and not because of any racist meanings. I really hope that was the case.
