Addison Russell doing better after allergic reaction that landed him in hospital
Addison Russell is improving and in the lineup for Tuesday’s game despite being hospitalized on Sunday night.
The Chicago Cubs shortstop had an allergic reaction to shellfish that was mislabeled in the Rockies’ visiting clubhouse. Russell is allergic to shellfish and “blew up” after eating some food that he thinks may have been shrimp.
According to ESPN’s Jesse Rogers, Russell went to the hospital for an IV and immediately felt better.
The shortstop is in the lineup batting seventh for the Cubs in the first of a two-game series against the Cleveland Indians in a rematch of the 2016 World Series.
