Houston Astros manager AJ Hinch had a funny reaction to the New York Yankees’ sign-stealing accusations made public this week.
On Wednesday, a report said the Yankees believed the Astros were stealing signs and communicating them via whistling in Game 1 of the ALCS. A day later, we learned MLB had cleared the Astros of wrongdoing.
So what did Hinch think of it all? He called it “ridiculous” and said it made him “laugh.”
Astros manager AJ Hinch on the allegation that his team was whistling in the dugout to relay signs in Game 1: “It made me laugh. Because it’s ridiculous. Had I known it would take something like that to set off the Yankees, we would’ve practiced that in spring training.”

The Astros have been faced with accusations of using technology or employees improperly to steal and communicate signs. They also seem to pick up on opposing pitchers tipping pitchers better than any other team in the league.
At this point this may be a situation similar to the Patriots, where teams are just paranoid about it now when it comes to the Astros.
