The Boston Red Sox have Houston Astros bench coach Alex Cora atop their list of managerial candidates, according to a report.
Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic reported Sunday that Cora is the leading candidate for the Red Sox vacancy, having already interviewed for the position.

Cora is highly thought-of in baseball circles despite only one season of big-league coaching experience and no previous managerial jobs. Also working in his favor is a strong recommendation from his current boss. While the Red Sox are still doing interviews, Cora sounds like the solid front-runner.
