Andrew McCutchen is another hot name ahead of the MLB non-waiver trade deadline.
Three different teams have shown interest in McCutchen recently, according to MLB.com’s Jon Morosi. He says the New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies and Cleveland Indians have all shown interest in McCutchen.
What helps any effort to acquire the San Francisco Giants outfielder is that he does not have a no-trade clause, unlike Adam Jones, who is another outfielder drawing interest.

The 31-year-old is unlikely to fetch too much given the season he’s having and his contract status. McCutchen is batting just .253 with a .753 OPS this season. He’s owed the remainder of his $14.75 million salary this year before he becomes a free agent.
Giants reporter Andrew Baggarly believes the Giants would be more likely to trade McCutchen next month if the team falls in the standings. The Giants entered play Monday 53-54 and still looking to make the postseason.
I do believe the Giants would look to trade Andrew McCutchen, but more likely in August on a waiver deal and only if they fail to gain ground or sink further in the standings. The whole qualifying offer/draft compensation carrot for keeping him is sort of a moot point now.
