Anthony Rendon helped turn things around for the Washington Nationals with a huge home run in the top of the seventh inning in Game 7 of the World Series on Wednesday night, and that has been part of a trend for the infielder.
Rendon took Zack Greinke deep to make it a 2-1 game in favor of the Houston Astros in the seventh. Juan Soto was next and walked, which prompted a pitching change from A.J. Hinch that backfired.
Rendon’s hit continued his clutch hitting late in elimination games this postseason.
According to Sam Fortier, Rendon was incredible in the 7th inning or later in the Nats’ five elimination games this postseason.

A walk, double, home run, double, home run, double, and home run is incredible. The guy was at his best when his team needed it the most. It’s no coincidence that with clutch hitting like this, the Nats were able to win their first World Series ever. Rendon had eight RBIs in the series.
