Report reveals how much time Anthony Rizzo will miss due to injury
Anthony Rizzo suffered an injury to his right arm/hand during his New York Yankees’ 9-3 loss to the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park in Boston, Mass. on Sunday night that will likely keep him out for some time.
Rizzo suffered a fracture to the radial neck of his right arm, The Athletic reported on Monday. The injury will not require surgery but is expected to sideline Rizzo for 4-6 weeks.
Rizzo suffered the injury after Red Sox pitcher Brennan Bernardino bumped into the Yankees first baseman while covering first base on a grounder during the top of the first inning.

The injury to Rizzo comes a week after the Yankees first baseman was given a few days off to collect himself.
Rizzo has batted just .223 with a .630 OPS in 70 games this season. He hit the ball well to start last season but then went into the tank after a collision with Fernando Tatis at first base in May. It wasn’t until August that the Yankees determined Rizzo had suffered a concussion during that collision.
This is two years in a row that Rizzo will be sidelined after a collision at first base.
DJ LeMahieu is expected to play first base and Oswaldo Cabrera will likely play third base for now.
