How much zip does Aroldis Chapman’s fastball have on it? So much that MLB.com had to customize one of its statistic leaderboards so someone else can have a chance to appear on it.
One Reddit user recently discovered that Major League Baseball has installed a “Chapman filter” on its Statcast Leaderboard, which shows individual stats like pitch speed and home run distance. Of course, the entire first page for “Fastest Pitches” is owned by Chapman.
If you want to know who — other than Chapman — has thrown very fast pitches this season, simply click the “Chapman filter” to remove the 27-year-old from the list.

Chapman has thrown 24 pitches this season that registered over 103 mph on the radar gun. 103!!!! Last season, he threw a pitch that was clocked at 104.
No wonder a fastball up and in from this guy immediately leads to bench-clearing brawls.
