
After missing nearly a week of action, George Springer is expected to return to the Houston Astros’ lineup on Monday.
Springer has been battling left quad soreness, but manager A.J. Hinch said Sunday that the expectation is for Springer to be back in the starting lineup when the Astros face the Oakland Athletics on Monday.

Springer has been on the bench for six consecutive games due to the lingering quad issue, which had begun to raise some eyebrows. The fact that he’s been available to pinch hit suggests that the Astros know this isn’t serious. Still, the fact that this happened on the back of significant time out due to a thumb injury will certainly be frustrating for Houston.
