Christian Yelich was announced on Thursday as the winner of the 2018 NL MVP award, and guess who was there to celebrate with him? Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield.
Mayfield’s Cleveland Browns are on a bye this week, so the quarterback was in Southern California and able to celebrate with Yelich.

The two became friends over the offseason when the trained at Proactive Sports Performance in Westlake Village, Calif., which is in Yelich’s hometown. They have remained friends, with Mayfield even supporting Yelich for NL MVP back in September.
Yelich received 29 of 30 first place vote (one voter had Jacob deGrom first). The outfielder led the Milwaukee Brewers to the NLCS in his first year with the team.
