Bartolo Colon still not ready to retire

Bartolo Colon swing

Fear not dear friends, for the legend of Big Sexy still lives.

Appearing Friday on MLB Network’s “Hot Stove,” MLB.com’s Jesse Sanchez reported that veteran pitcher and cultural icon Bartolo Colon is not yet ready to retire. Sanchez adds that Colon still feels like he can contribute and wants to get back into the big leagues via a minor league contract. He also says the ex-Cy Young winner will explore his options for the 2020 season, including going to Japan and weighing current offers that he has to pitch in Mexico.

Colon, who will turn 47 in May, did not pitch at all last season and looked like he had little left in the tank during the 2018 campaign with the Texas Rangers.

Still, Colon can offer a ripe 21 years of MLB experience and an endless supply of Internet memes to any interested club. We also heard before that Colon wanted to continue his baseball career for a very specific reason.
