The Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday night traded away one of their best players, and Blake Snell was not a fan of the move.
Snell was live on Twitch when he learned that the Rays had traded away Tommy Pham to the San Diego Padres for Hunter Renfroe and Xavier Edwards.
“We gave Pham up for Renfroe and damn slapd-ck prospect?” he said incensed.

Why wouldn’t Snell be upset? The Rays just won 96 games and reached the ALDS. Why would they get rid of a guy who batted .273 with 33 doubles, 21 homers and 25 stolen bases and an .818 OPS? Because they’re the Rays, and getting rid of good players before they become too expensive is their business model.
The Rays are getting back Renfroe, a career .235 hitter who has home run pop, and Edwards, a 20-year-old who was drafted in the first round last year.
This is the second straight offseason where Snell, the 2018 Cy Young winner, has been upset with the Rays.
