Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Alan Roden went all-out for a catch on Sunday, and sold out so hard that he actually made an impression on the wall.
Roden ran full-speed into the left field wall during the fifth inning of Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pa. Roden hung onto the ball even after smashing into the wall face-first.

It quickly became apparent just how hard Roden went into the wall, as his eyeblack actually left a visible mark.

Roden was understandably shaken up, but stayed in the game.
The walls in Philadelphia are certainly sturdy enough to knock players out of the game if hit at full speed. The fact that Roden was able to bounce back the way he did, especially with how hard he hit the wall, was genuinely impressive.
Roden is a 25-year-old rookie who only made his MLB debut earlier this year. He entered Sunday’s game hitting just .186, but he can clearly play some defense.
