Blue Jays fan who got hit in face with foul ball gets baseball card from Topps
Toronto Blue Jays fan Liz McGuire went viral online this week, but not for any reason she ever would have expected.
McGuire got nailed in the head/face by a foul ball from Bo Bichette during Sunday’s 5-2 win by the Blue Jays over the Tampa Bay Rays at Rogers Centre in Toronto. She shared photos of herself on X after the game and noted that she stayed until the end of the game despite being hit, and she didn’t even get the ball.
McGuire had a huge welt on her forehead and later developed a black eye.
Hey @BlueJays I got my face mashed in by a 110mph foul off Bo Bichette's bat. I didn't even get the ball. I even stayed till the end of the game. Any way you can hook a girl up? #tothecore #bluejays pic.twitter.com/uXJqXenVLm

McGuire wrote on X that she went for a medical assessment and X-rays after the game. Thankfully, her scans came back OK.

Someone asked McGuire if she was on her phone and not paying attention. She said she had turned her head to argue with a friend about the need for robot umps.
Nope. i tuned away for a second to argue about the need for robot umps to my buddy.

How relatable.
After she got nailed and had nothing to show for it except for the black eye, Topps hooked her up by creating a baseball card design for her.
ππ¨π¦π§ ππ‘: We made a custom Topps Now trading card of Liz McGuire: the fan who took a 110MPH Bo Bichette foul ball to the head and STAYED AT THE GAME.
We produced exactly 110 copies, and weβre gifting them all to @lizzzzzzzzzzy.
Liz, youβre a champ! pic.twitter.com/7B9eKyharg

Topps said they were producing 110 cards like that and sending them to McGuire. She seemed pleased with the development. At least she finally got something for all her trouble!
