Big Papi was shot while enjoying an evening with friends in the Dominican Republic on June 9. He underwent surgery to remove his gallbladder and part of his large intestine and was later transported to Boston, where he is expected to make a full recovery. Authorities in the Dominican Republic announced Friday that they had made an arrest of the alleged mastermind behind the crime.
As for Adames, the 25-year-old boxer is now 18-0 (14 KOs) in his career.
