The Chicago Cubs caught a break on a groundout by Brandon Guyer to end the top of the second inning of Game 5 of the World Series on Sunday night.

Guyer grounded a ball to Kris Bryant, whose throw pulled first baseman Anthony Rizzo off the bag. Though the throw beat Guyer — leading umpire Joe West to call the runner out — a replay shows Rizzo’s foot was actually off the base.

The Indians did not challenge the call, but if they had, there would have been a decent chance of getting it overturned. Instead, the call stood and the game moved on.
