The rumored hire of agent Brodie Van Wagenen as the new general manager of the New York Mets appears to be happening.
According to Jon Heyman of Fancred, the Mets and Van Wagenen are finalizing a deal to make him the new Mets GM.

Van Wagenen has no prior front office experience. He negotiated Yoenis Cespedes’s deal with the Mets, and also represents Jacob deGrom and Tim Tebow.
Whatever the case, Van Wagenen has well and truly charmed the Mets. He’s been the leading candidate all along despite other, more experienced candidates being in the picture. If it doesn’t work out, the Mets are going to hear about this one.
