Rumors have been swirling for several days now that Bryce Harper is on the verge of signing a massive free agent contract, and the general consensus seems to be that the deal will be with the Phillies.
One specific rumor claims Harper has agreed to a 10-year deal with the Phillies worth around $300 million.

If you want to really get carried away with the offseason speculation, another report claimed Harper was “in the mood to celebrate” earlier this week and that he finally has his big contract.

It seems like a foregone conclusion at this point that the Phillies are going to wind up with Harper or Manny Machado. There has been some talk that Harper would prefer to play for a west coast team, but that easily could have been planted by his agent Scott Boras just to get the Phillies to come forward with their best and final offer. Or, it’s possible Harper isn’t close to a deal with any team just yet. Welcome to the MLB offseason.
