The new chapter of Bryce Harper’s career is off to a great start, as he has already showcased the power and hitting ability that inspired the Philadelphia Phillies to sign him to a $330 million contract. The star outfielder seems to be enjoying himself on the field, and he is also loving the local cuisine in his new city.
Harper went 3-for-9 with two home runs in the Phillies’ series against the Atlanta Braves over the weekend. While that’s solid, he said his average is much better with picking restaurants in Philly.

We knew Harper — a Scott Boras client — was going to sign with the highest bidder in free agency, and that ended up being the Phillies. However, there were rumblings that he wasn’t thrilled about the idea of playing in Philly, so the fact that he’s enjoying himself off the field is noteworthy. That’s not a surprise considering he’s only moving from Washington, D.C., and Harper will probably get annoyed with fans at the ballpark before he stops enjoying living in a new city.
