Cardinals reportedly a possible destination for Greg Holland
The Cardinals have been reported as a possible landing spot for free agent closer Greg Holland with Wade Davis now off the market.
On Thursday, the Rockies bolstered their bullpen by agreeing to terms with three-time All-Star Wade Davis. That leaves Holland as perhaps the premier ninth inning man available. The Cardinals added Luke Gregerson earlier this month, but that may not be the only bullpen arm they add.
MLB Network’s Jon Morosi mentioned the Cardinals as a possible destination for Holland to help make up for the number of relievers who have left since last season ended.
#STLCards are a possible destination for Greg Holland, with Wade Davis off the board. Cardinals signed Gregerson but have net deficit of relievers since season ended (Oh, Nicasio, Duke, Rosenthal). @MLB @MLBNetwork

Holland would be a welcomed addition to any team. He was part of the vaunted Royals bullpen that helped the team win the World Series in 2015. Holland led the National Legaue in saves last season with 41 and has recorded 40 or more saves in three of the past four seasons.
