Carlos Carrasco poised for rehab assignment Monday
Cleveland Indians pitcher Carlos Carrasco could be shaping up to be one of the feel-good stories of the baseball season.
Manager Terry Francona announced Saturday that Carrasco, currently working his way back from leukemia, will likely throw a rehab inning on Monday, with the Indians keeping him on a reliever plan moving forward.
So long as Carlos Carrasco’s arm feels good today, he’ll throw an inning in a rehab appearance for Double-A Akron on Monday. The Indians will keep him on a reliever’s program, an idea that got Carrasco excited.
“His eyes lit up,” Terry Francona said.

All the updates on Carrasco have been good as he works to make his recovery. It now looks like there’s a very real likelihood that he’ll pitch in the majors this season.
