I have the details on Charlie Blackmon's extension: Six years, $108 million with escalators that can take it to $116 million. Deal runs through 2023. Last two years are player options. Limited no-trade clause. https://t.co/h8nIG66Ddw via @HardballTalk

For all intents and purposes, Charlie Blackmon agreed to a three-year extension worth $63 million with two player options. The deal kicks in this year at $12M — $2M lower than his agreed-upon arb salary — and the player options for 2022 and ‘23 can take total value to $108M.

Blackmon is coming off a season in which he hit .331 with 37 home runs, but he’s 31 years old, making this somewhat surprising from the Rockies’ perspective — particularly after a slow free agent market. Still, it sounds like he’ll be a Rockie for life, or nearly, at least.
