Chicago Daily News has ironic ‘bullets’ headline about Aroldis Chapman
There are many ways one could describe Aroldis Chapman’s performance in Game 5 of the World Series Sunday night. But gun references should probably be avoided.
After Chapman pitched 2 2/3 innings — his longest outing as a member of the Chicago Cubs — to help his team stay alive against the Cleveland Indians, the Chicago Daily News used a questionable description of the left-hander’s impressive velocity.

Why is that a problem? Well, Chapman was accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend last year during an argument. He also allegedly fired a gun at a wall in his garage during the same incident. You can read more details here.
So, yeah, probably not the best choice of words. Chapman consistently threw in the 100-mph range on Sunday, so you can understand why the publication said he was tossing “bullets.” It was likely an honest mistake.
