Corey Dickerson traded from Pirates to Phillies
The Philadelphia Phillies have added a hot bat to their lineup in Corey Dickerson.
The Phillies acquired Dickerson in a trade with the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday to beat the deadline. The 30-year-old has been dealing with injuries throughout the season but has been very good when he’s been able to play.
On Tuesday, he slugged two home runs and drove in five in an 11-4 win over Cincinnati. Dickerson is batting .317 with a .932 OPS this season. He is a career .285 hitter with an .829 OPS. Dickerson was an All-Star in 2017 for Tampa Bay and won a Gold Glove last year with Pittsburgh.
Jay Bruce is currently injured for the Phillies, so Dickerson should be able to play or potentially split time with Adam Haseley in the outfield.
