The Chicago Cubs may be the favorites to land pitcher Aroldis Chapman as trade talks remain fluid, according to various reports.
Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reported Sunday morning that the Cubs are very much in for Chapman, but there is no deal yet.
Sources: #Cubs strong in mix for #Yankees’ Chapman. At least two other clubs involved.

Jon Heyman of Today’s Knuckleball wrote that a mystery team has entered the mix, with the Nationals, who have Chapman as their top trade target, having apparently fallen behind in the race with the Yankees unimpressed by their offers.
The San Francisco Giants were also involved, but do not sound optimistic about getting a deal done.
General sense around Giants is that momentum is elsewhere on Aroldis Chapman

At this hour, things sound good for the Cubs and less good for the Nats, who have targeted a reliever of Chapman’s caliber. We’ll wait to see who the mystery team is, but it sounds like this is moving toward a conclusion.
