Report: Nationals ‘want in’ on Aroldis Chapman sweepstakes
The Washington Nationals are looking to make a big splash before the trade deadline.
Barry Svrluga of the Washington Post reported Friday that the Nationals “want in” on the Aroldis Chapman market.
Best Nats trade info: They want in on Chapman. Others very interested. Won’t give up Giolito, Turner, Robles, Lopez.

Chapman will be in high demand. He’s one of baseball’s most elite relievers with the ability to bring the heat, and the Yankees will be motivated to move him with his contract set to expire at season’s end. The Yankees appear quite likely to move him, but he still won’t come cheap.
It’s worth noting that, should the Nationals acquire Chapman, it would be their second trade deadline in a row dealing for an elite reliever. They’ll be hoping it goes better than the last one did.
