Dallas Latos says she was assaulted by Pirates fan
PNC Park on Tuesday was not a pleasant place for Johnny Cueto, the Cincinnati Reds or family members of the team’s players.
Dallas Latos, the wife of Reds starter Mat Latos, said on Twitter that she was assaulted at the game by a Pittsburgh Pirates fan. She says she repeatedly told PNC Park security that she felt threatened and that her concerns went ignored, which is why she tweeted about the incident. She says she even filed a police report about the incident.
You can read her entire account of what happened in the tweets below. How bad was it? Latos says she was dragged down by her hair and punched in the head multiple times. Her full account is below.
Got punched in the head at least 3 times by a pirates fan so this has been cool.

Spent most of the game talking to police. Fancy is one word that comes to mind.

“@DallasLatos not intentionally, right? (via @zlovas90)” I was grabbed by my hair and beat in the head. Pretty sure it was intentional.

Pittsburgh police can’t arrest anyone on assault accounts so I’m the one who spent the game talking to law enforcement after being attacked.

She says she told security she was threatened and they “didn’t care.”
Hey- I box for fun & didn’t even swing back bc it was so uncalled for. just blocked my head bc that’s what was attacked. Who does that?!

Look. Check the police report. I was ambushed in the Budweiser bar, grabbed by the hair, drug down & punched in the head multiple times.

A huge man called me a cunt & said he was going to kick my ass so I told security. His chick is who threatened me & then attacked me.

& for everyone saying I started it, I asked a huge dude to stop being mean to Meso’s grandma & he threatened to beat me so I told security.

“Meso” is likely a reference to Reds catcher Devin Mesoraco. Obviously Latos was sitting with other Reds family members.
Dallas wasn’t the only Latos who seemed to have an incident with Pirates fans. After the Reds lost 6-2, TV cameras showed Mat appearing to have words with Pirates fans sitting behind their dugout:
Latos’ tweets have at least put some pressure on PNC Park security to investigate the matter.
