David Ortiz gets curtain call after final game (Video)
After Monday’s loss to the Indians, David Ortiz acknowledged the Fenway faithful one last time before riding off into the sunset.
The Indians completed the sweep of the Red Sox in their American League Division Series. Not only did it end Boston’s season, but it also closed the career of David Ortiz as well. While it was a time for sadness for Red Sox fans, it also presented those at Fenway Park an opportunity to salute the beloved Ortiz.
Once the game was over, Ortiz came out onto the field to a standing ovation. It was an emotional few minutes as he tipped his cap in acknowledgement before retreating to the dugout.
