David Ortiz undergoes third surgery due to complications from gunshot
It has now been a month since David Ortiz was shot in the Dominican Republic, and the former Boston Red Sox slugger recently had to undergo another surgical procedure.
Ortiz’s wife Tiffany said Thursday that Big Papi underwent a third surgery earlier in the week after experiencing some complications. Fortunately, he is once again recovering well.

Ortiz underwent extensive surgery in the Dominican Republic before being transferred to Boston. He was shot in the back and the bullet exited his stomach in an attempted assassination, and it goes without saying that he is fortunate to be alive. All of the updates from Tiffany Ortiz had been positive prior to David’s most recent surgery, but fortunately it sounds like it went well.
