Speculation is building that David Ortiz will be a part of the pregame celebration to hype up the Boston Bruins and the crowd at TD Garden ahead of Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final on Wednesday.
Boston reporter Adam Kaufman speculated earlier in the day that Ortiz might deliver a video message before the game.
For obvious reasons – and please stop asking – David Ortiz won’t be the banner captain at the Garden tonight. That was never a consideration.
But, can’t help but wonder if we will see a video message from the #RedSox legend. The place would go ape.

WEEI reportedly also said Ortiz filmed a video that will play before the game.
Via @SoxBooth, hockey reporters around the league have heard from credible sources that David Ortiz will film a video that will be played before the Bruins game tonight. Did I hear that right? If so, the Garden will EXPLODE.

The LA Times even published an article on Wednesday saying Ortiz would deliver a message before the game.
Ortiz is in Boston at Mass General Hospital recovering from a second surgery. He was shot in the back/lower abdomen while enjoying an evening at a bar in Santo Domingo on Sunday night in the Dominican Republic. He had his gallbladder removed and damage to his liver and intestines.
Ortiz is a beloved figure in Boston. Not only did he become a fan-favorite during his time on the Red Sox, but he also became a U.S. citizen and lives in Massachusetts. He fired up Fenway Park with a speech after the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013 and has served as an inspirational figure for the city in the past.
