David Price opts out of playing 2020 season

David Price

Another player has opted out of the 2020 MLB season, and it’s a pretty big name.

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher David Price announced on social media Saturday that he will not play in the 2020 season, citing concerns about the health of himself and his family.

Price is signed through 2022, so he’ll be able to suit up for the Dodgers next season. The team acquired him in the offseason as part of the Mookie Betts trade after he posted a 7-5 record and a 4.28 ERA in his final season with the Boston Red Sox.

Maybe a year off will help him get even healthier given the issues he’s dealt with over the past few seasons.
