Report: Dodgers have rebuffed trade offers for Gavin Lux

Los Angeles Dodgers

At least one of the Los Angeles Dodgers’ top young players appears to be untouchable amid the offseason shuffle.

Jon Heyman of MLB Network reported on Sunday that the Dodgers have rebuffed trade offers for 22-year-old infielder Gavin Lux. Heyman notes the defending NL West champs’ interest in Anthony Rendon as well as Justin Turner’s willingness to switch positions but points out that the Dodgers already have Lux at second base and Max Muncy at first.

In his rookie season for the Dodgers in 2019, Lux hit .240 with a .705 OPS in 23 regular season appearances and also served as their starting second baseman for a handful of games in the postseason.

Lux does struggle to hit left-handed pitching, so he may still be something of a platoon player for the immediate future. Regardless, he is not the only player that the Dodgers have received trade interest in recently.

Dodgers fans, show everyone who runs LA with this great T-shirt:
