The Los Angeles Dodgers are set to enter the 2026 MLB season as the World Series favorites once again.

After another busy free agency period, the Dodgers were able to come to a deal to give veteran Max Muncy a one-year contract extension worth $10 million guaranteed with an option for the 2028 season.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have agreed to terms with IF Max Muncy on a one-year contract extension for $10 million guaranteed, which includes a $7 million salary for the 2027 season and a $10 million club option for 2028.

Muncy began his MLB career with the Oakland Athletics, and he joined the Dodgers on a minor league deal in 2017.

Muncy has four seasons in LA with 35 or more home runs and he was named to the All-Star team twice.

In Game 7 of the World Series against the Toronto Blue Jays, Muncy hit a game-tying two-run home run in the 8th inning, and the Dodgers later won the game in extra innings to capture their second straight World Series title.

Max Muncy’s home run in the 8th inning of Game 7 of the World Series gave the Dodgers life that fueled their comeback.

He’ll now play at least 2 more seasons with the Dodgers after his extension.

The Dodgers have been busy once again this offseason. They signed former New York Mets All-Star closer Edwin Diaz to a three-year deal. Then, the Dodgers landed the top free agent, signing outfielder Kyle Tucker to a massive four-year, $240 million deal.

Now, Muncy is staying in LA for at least two more seasons.
