Dustin Pedroia still unable to play due to knee problems
Dustin Pedroia has played nine games since the end of the 2017 season, and there is a real possibility that his time is up in Major League Baseball.
Boston Red Sox manager Ron Roenicke gave an update on Pedroia’s status Tuesday as he continues to deal with knee issues, and it does not sound like he’s close to being able to play again.
Roenicke on Dustin Pedroia: "He's still not a point where he's thinking about trying to be ready to come back and join us."

The reality is Pedroia may not be able to come back from this one. His knee has become a long-term problem, and another offseason setback could be the final straw. Add in the fact that he turns 37 in August and the reality is he may have reached the end of the line.
Pedroia is a career .299 hitter and was a big part of two World Series titles. If this is it, his legacy is secure.
