Edwin Encarnacion soon expects to be a very wealthy man.
The Toronto Blue Jays slugger wants a five year, $125 million deal from his next team, according to TSN’s Rick Westhead, who spoke with Encarnacion’s agent.
Encarnacion is coming off a season that saw him hit 42 home runs, including the decisive blow in the AL Wildcard game. He turns 34 in January.

It remains to be seen whether the Blue Jays will be able to retain Encarnacion. It sounds like they’re preparing to part ways with another one of their prominent sluggers in order to afford him. He won’t come cheap, though, and they will probably have competition.
