Despite the addition of Kendrys Morales, the Toronto Blue Jays are still keeping one eye on the Edwin Encarnacion situation.
Encarnacion’s agent, Paul Kinzer, told TSN’s Rick Westhead that he was still in contact with the Blue Jays, and that he believed his client could handle first base.

This may be a simple case of an agent trying to keep as many options open publicly, creating leverage for his client. Encarnacion will be expensive, and with the Jays adding a designated hitter, the fit for Encarnacion in Toronto just got a bit tighter.
