George Springer lands on IL with hamstring strain
The Houston Astros will be without one of the hottest players in their lineup for at least ten days.
The Astros placed outfielder George Springer on the IL Saturday after straining his hamstring Friday against the Boston Red Sox.

It’s unknown how severe the strain is or whether Springer will be out longer than the mandated ten-day period. Manager A.J. Hinch, however, suggested that the injury could be a serious one.
Springer leads the AL in homers and RBI, with 17 and 43 respectively. He hadn’t played since May 19 due to back stiffness before returning to the lineup Friday. He was chasing a popup when the hamstring injury took place and left the game immediately.
