Giancarlo Stanton shut down again with calf strain
Giancarlo Stanton’s injury problems are continuing, even on rehab assignments this time.
Manager Aaron Boone said Wednesday that Stanton will be shut down for 7-10 days after suffering a left calf strain that is somehow believed to be the result of a hit by pitch suffered on a rehab assignment.

I can’t explain how a hit by pitch would cause a calf strain. Neither could Boone.

Stanton hasn’t played since March 31 due to a biceps injury and had been working toward a return. He simply cannot catch a break right now, but hopefully this won’t delay his return too long.
